Concrete, rubber masks and photographic documentation
Variable dimensions

Four strangers breathed the same air as one another in a performance lasting several minutes. The rubber masks, linked together inside the concrete cube, shielded the exchange of inhalations and exhalations while impeding the ability to talk; symbolically compelling the participants to remain in this state of proximity and equality. After the performance finished, its photographic documentation was put on show. This work with its sense of the smothering of voice and sound recalls emblematic examples from art history.
